A nonprofit howling to make a difference.
I was the Lead UX Designer and Web Designer throughout the project cycle from requirements gathering to strategy, wireframing, prototype designing, and website development. I also collaborated with key stakeholders to brainstorm ideas and problem-solve.
Seacrest Wolf Preserve needs to transform the visitor experience and enhance its educational outreach to create a deeper connection between visitors and the organization's mission of wolf conservation.
1. Empathize
I began this project by immersing myself in the world of Seacrest Wolf Preserve, conducting interviews and spending time with the staff, volunteers, and visitors. We also surveyed visitors and researched their expectations. Insights revealed the need for an improved visitor experience and more impactful educational programs.
2. Define
Through user interviews, I was able to determine that Seacrest Wolf Preserve needs to transform the visitor experience and enhance its educational outreach to create a deeper connection between visitors and the organization's mission of wolf conservation.
3. Ideate
I generated creative solutions to address the defined problem. Ideas included interactive guided tours, immersive educational experiences, and an online educational portal to extend outreach efforts.
4. Prototype
I created prototypes for the new guided tours and immersive experiences, which were tested with Seacrest Wolf Preserve's staff and early visitors. Their feedback was crucial in refining the prototypes and developing engaging educational content.
5. Test
The prototypes were tested with visitors, and their feedback guided iterative improvements.
6. Implement
Through the application of the design thinking process, Seacrest Wolf Preserve successfully transformed the visitor experience and expanded its educational outreach. The introduction of interactive guided tours, immersive experiences, and the online educational portal created a more profound connection between visitors and the organization's mission of wolf conservation.
